Taking care of your riding saddle, especially when it's a pre-loved saddle, is vital to keeping it strong, comfortable and safe for the long-term. Leather is a "living" material, so it needs the right kind of loving care on a regular basis. If you're wondering how to look after your leather properly, we have all the information you need in our ultimate guide. Here are the three steps to follow and the care products you need:

Clean with saddle soap

Saddle soap or glycerine soap is the starting point for any good care routine. It gently cleans your pre-loved saddle to remove dust and dirt without damaging the leather. This leather cleaning product is perfect for using after every ride or at least once a week to keep your leather clean and cared for.

Moisturise with leather conditioner

Once it's clean, it's time to condition your leather. Leather conditioner deeply hydrates your leather to stop it drying out or cracking. It restores your saddle's softness and shine whilst protecting it from external aggressors. Apply leather conditioner once or twice a month depending on how much you use your equipment and how you store your saddle.

Rejuvenate with leather oil 

Leather oil comes highly recommended for very dry or old leather, like you may get with some pre-loved saddles. It softens, deeply moisturises and extends the life span of your leather. Although you should use this leather care product in moderation, it's great at restoring damaged leather. Apply our leather oil (available in 500ml and 250ml bottles) once or twice a year or every now and then if your leather is very dry.
